Grocery store embraces the gluten-free lifestyle

A ShopRite store in Cherry Hill (Camden County) is hosting a free Gluten-Free Festival on Saturday. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the grocery store at 400 E. Evesham Road.

The festival offers samplings, tasting and giveaways featuring some popular gluten-free brands, such as Snyder's, GoVeggie, EnjoyLife, The Little Bakery, Amy's and Dr. Praeger's, as well as many others. Meanwhile, Dr. Ritu Verma, a pediatric gastroenterologist at the Children's Hosptial of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Director of its Center for Celiac Disease, will advise families about ways to navigate a diagnosis.


ShopRite's in-store dietitian Ashley Cully also will be there to educate people, discussing budget-friendly ways to manage Celiac Disease and providing recipe and product suggestions to help ease the transition to a gluten-free diet. In addition, representatives from the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and the South Jersey Chapter of the Celiac Support Association will answer customer questions.

ShopRite of Evesham Road offers a permanent gluten-free department with a variety of
