Attention Gluten-Free shoppers

ShopRite of Marlton is hosting its Gluten Free Festival tomorrow, 10 a.m . to 2 p.m., with lots of food samples, health information and grocery assistance.

According to a ShopRite spokeswoman, the event features in-store dietician Ashley Cully and pediatric gastroenterologist Dr. Ritu Verma. The latter is director of the Center for Celiac Disease at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and I had the pleasure of meeting at the Gluten & Allergen Free Expo last month.

Dr. Verma will be on hand to advise families on ways they can navigate a Celiac diagnosis. Ms. Cully will educate folks about budget-friendly ways to manage the condition, while also offering recipe and product suggestions to help ease the transition to a gluten-free diet.

Those in attendance can enjoy food samples and giveaways that feature some of the most popular gluten-free brands, such as Enjoy Life, Bolthouse Farms and Cabot.

According to the store's spokeswoman, it expanded its gluten-free offerings earlier this year and has a designated gluten-free department. In addition, Ms. Cully offers free, one-one-one consultations with customers by appointment.

The store is located at 307 W. Route 70 in Evesham (aka Marlton), in a shopping center at a crossroads with Route 73. Appointments with Ms. Cully can be scheduled by calling 856-983-7370.
