Girl Scout Cookie Giveaway!

We're celebrating National Girl Scout Week, starting March 8, by giving away a bag of gluten-free Trios every day through Sunday.

The Trios have been sold since January by Girl Scouts troops affiliated with the Central & Southern New Jersey Council. Other councils in the Garden State are selling gluten-free toffee cookies.

Girl Scouts testing second gluten-free cookie

Gluten-free Girl Scout cookies are coming to New Jersey!

They’re different than the bite-size chocolate chip cookies featured in last year’s pilot program, which none of the four Garden State councils participated in. This year, the Girls Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey council is serving as a test market for Trios: A gluten-free peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookie.

Sold through individual troops that opt to participate, the Trios come in a 5-ounce re-sealable pouch that retails for $5, according to the council’s website. (We all know gluten-free foods cost more. Sigh) They'll become available during the 2015 cookie sale.

There is a lot of talk going around about the new gluten-free Girl Scout cookies with some key points missing.  

Before you get too excited, you must first know that this is a test product. It is not readily available and no Girl Scouts in New Jersey are currently selling them. Regional Girl Scout councils in select markets across the country are offering them. 

I repeat, YOU CANNOT GET THEM IN NEW JERSEY. 

Hopefully, you will be able to in the future.
In the meantime, the closest to the Garden State is the Eastern Pennsylvania Council, which serves Philadelphia, and it won’t have them until the spring.
