GFGS Community Calendar: June 2014

As a service to our regular readers and the Celiac community at large, Gluten Free Garden State offers an ongoing list of upcoming events of interest. We feature local happenings, regional events and national programs open to the public. The calendar appears on the second Sunday of each month. Tuesday, June 17: Northern NJ Celiac Disease Support Group Meetup in Paramus, Bergen County. Held 7-9 pm at the Dorothy B. Kraft Center (part of The Valley Hospital) at 15 Essex Rd. Cost is $2 to attend; Children are free. Meetup is open to the public. Agenda to be announced. Click here for more information.

Thursday, June 19: Gluten Free Aphrodisiac Cooking Class, 7-10 p.m., with the New York City Celiac Disease Meetup group. Membership is free and open to all those living the gluten free lifestyle. Visit the group's website for more information on this event.



Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 6-7: Gluten & Allergen Free Expo at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, Hudson County. Event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Parking is free. Go to gfafexpo.com to purchase tickets and obtain additional information.

Saturday, Sept. 20: Celiac Awareness Night at Yankee Stadium, Bronx, N.Y. Take in the New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays with expanded gluten-free options, including hot dogs and sausages on gluten-free buns. Tickets are $35 per seat in sections 232A-234 with a portion of sales donated to the National Celiac Disease Society. Purchase tickets through the Gluten Free Calendar.

Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 25-26: Gluten & Allergen Free Expo in Springfield, Mass. with educational presentations, and products for sampling and purchase. Event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Go to gfafexpo.com to purchase tickets and obtain additional information.

Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 15-16: Gluten & Allergen Free Expo in Dallas, Tx. with educational presentations, and products for sampling and purchase. Event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Go to gfafexpo.com to purchase tickets and obtain additional information.

Saturday, Nov. 22: Food Allergy & Celiac Convention at Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Starting at 9 a.m., the day includes breakfast, an expo area, workshops, samples, information and giveaways. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door for adults; $5 for children.
