Expo highlighting gluten-free products

The Gluten & Allergen Free Expo returns to the Garden State Sept. 6-7 in Secaucus. If you haven't already, be sure to get your tickets because you're going to want to be there.

In full disclosure, Gluten Free Garden State is an "official blogger" for the expo. Although unpaid, this blogger is attending for free and raffling off tickets to GFGS readers. However, I do not falsely endorse any product or event. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't promote it or seek to attend.

After attending expos organized by other groups, I was excited to attend my first Gluten & Allergen Free Expo last year. It met and succeeded all of my expectations. Imagine walking into a exhibition hall FULL of gluten-free foods. It's heaven!

If I couldn't make it this year, I would still gush blog about this fabulous event.

This expo highlights a wide variety of gluten-free products created by businesses from throughout New Jersey, as well as the rest of the country. Attendees can simply walk through the exhibition hall sampling as the foods and collecting coupons or take-home goodies. Local exhibitors include Schar in Lyndhurst, Conte's Pasta in Buena, Toufayan Bakery in Ridgefield, and Gee's Gluten Free Imports.

Other vendors will offer information and educational opportunities, such as the Children's Celiac Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Celiac Disease Foundation. Meanwhile, a classroom will host industry experts, who will present topics related to their areas of knowledge. The sessions offer baking and cooking tips, as well as discussions on health issues faced by the gluten-free community.

The Expo's price of admission for adults is $20 at the door or $15 if purchased in advance. The cost for children ages 3-10 is $5 at the door; $3 in advance. Children under age 3 are admitted free. Parking also is free.

For additional information or to purchase tickets, visit the the Expo's website.
