Food allergies are the bane of every social gathering, but holidays can be downright difficult when attempting to prepare a gluten-free dish or meal that many people can enjoy.
This is where health coach Monica Amsterdam and Chef Gary Townsend can help. The pair is presenting a seminar on "Holiday Meals" on Monday, Nov. 10, 7-9 p.m., in the test kitchen at The Kitchen Guy in Little Falls. The business, located at 25 Amity St., is a kitchen design and installation showroom owned by Townsend.
The gluten-free cooking seminar is designed for people interested in cooking to accommodate gluten-free lifestyles and common food allergies. Monica and Gary will share tips and techniques for utilizing fresh, seasonal ingredients and will provide recipes.
Best of all, students will enjoy the meal prepared during the seminar.
The cost is $49 per person. Seating is limited and doled out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations can be made by emailing thekitchenguy1@optonline.net. Tickets also are being sold in advance (and with a $5 discount) at the Eat Healthy Deli in Fairfield.
